Rob was first elected State Representative for Minnesota District 3A in a special election in December 2015, finishing the term of the late David Dill. Rob has been re-elected in the 2016, 2018, and 2020 general elections. Currently, Rob serves as the chair of the Labor, Industry, Veterans and Military Affairs Committee, as well as the following committees: Ways and Means, Environment and Natural Resources, and Agriculture.
Rob has devoted his life to serving others. He is a Marine Corps veteran, has served as a labor union leader and was a Koochiching county commissioner. Rob has lived in International Falls for over 57 years. Rob has worked at the Boise paper mill for over 26 years. He is a member and past president of the United Steelworkers Local 159. Before being elected to the Legislature, Rob served on the Koochiching County Board where he was active in regional issues such as economic development, transportation and clean water. Rob was also a youth hockey coach in International Falls. Rob enjoys hockey and is an avid hunter. Rob attended Rainy River Community College and Bemidji State University. He and his wife Joan live in International Falls and have three sons, Nick, Jared and Shari (wife) and Cory and Megan (wife). |
